This table shows all 911 police emergency response and officer-initiated calls for service in the City of Detroit between January 1, 2016 and September 20, 2016. Emergency response calls are the result of people calling 911 to request police services. Officer-initiated calls include traffic stops, street investigations and other policing activities (such as observing crimes in progress) where police officers initiate the response. The table includes all calls taken and reports intake, dispatch, travel, and total response and call times for those calls serviced by a police agency. The data also includes the responding agency, unit, call type and category and disposition of each call.
The location data is provided to the block-level by anonymizing the last two digits of the incident address and offsetting the longitude/latitude coordinates by 100 feet. The times are presented in fractional minutes (e.g., 1.5 min = 1 min 30 secs).
For data after September 20, 2016, go to Please note that DPD launched a new system to collect 911 call data on that date, and certain fields of information may not be appropriate to compare between the two systems. Both systems were used to receive calls on September 20, 2016, so neither dataset is inclusive of all calls received on that day.

Note on Anonymized Addresses:
Please note that the anonymization process for this dataset is different than for the 911 Calls dataset for calls placed after September 20, 2016. For more information about anonymization for that dataset, read the metadata here:
The anonymization process systematically takes the point of the original XY coordinates and places them randomly within a 100 buffer of the original point. The XY coordinate fields provided in this dataset are the new, anonymized location. To mask the address field where there is a street number provided by the caller, the last two digits of the address field are removed and replaced with “XX.”
